I wanted a photo with him...

...on his birthday. He said, "No, later!" He kept covering his face with his arm and I managed to trick him with no flash. His little face still looks so cute.

Photo Walk

My friend Sophia & I took a walk around my neighborhood this afternoon. We each took our cameras and photographed anything we found interesting. I loved this yellow plant, the dried roses on the bush and the nopal. Sophia loved the lilacs, velvety red roses and hole-y nopal. We then ran around a'la Yes,Man and took photos as we jogged. Haha. The first two are mine and the next are Sophia's. We had such a fun time!

My little cousin Diego turned 3 today. He's been waiting for this birthday for months. Every day he would pretend it was his birthday so this morning when the day finally came, he didn't believe it. My aunt had him a little party at his Monday Mommy & Me class with his little friends. They made wooden butterflies with their faces as the butterfly face. These are the polaroids their faces were cut out of. I couldn't resist saving these scraps from the trash bin.

Reminds me of You

I recently watched a film on Sundance called Before Sunrise with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy circa 1995. This particluar scene grabbed my attention with a voice I'd never before heard. That of folk legend Kath Bloom singing Come Here.

Grant Writing Workshop

I am hosting a Grant Writing Workshop at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut this Friday at noon. It is going to be taught by the lovely Elizabeth Venable. It is a $10 donation to Elizabeth for her time yet no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

I took this photo on my way to my grandma's house down Cesar Chavez Ave. It looks as if she's about to be painted over as part of fixing up the grocery store. I'm glad I snapped this photo before this beautiful mural is gone forever.
